As part of Wink Fasteners's commitment to the environment, we constantly review how we can reduce, reuse and recycle. We stay current with the latest environmental best practices and adopt them whenever feasible.

The most effective way to reduce waste is to prevent it in the first place. Waste prevention, also known as "source reduction," is the practice of designing, manufacturing, purchasing, or using materials (such as products and packaging) in ways that reduce the amount or toxicity of trash created. Reusing items is another way to stop waste at the source because it delays or avoids that item's entry in the waste collection and disposal system.
Source reduction, including reuse, can help reduce waste disposal and handling costs, because it avoids the costs of recycling, municipal composting, landfilling, and combustion. Source reduction also conserves resources and reduces pollution, including greenhouse gases that contribute to global warming.

Unlike many consumables that contribute to damaging the environment, corrosion resistant fasteners will not end up in our landfills since they increase the life cycle of all the products they are used in. Helping products last longer by specializing in corrosion resistant materials (stainless, Inconel®, Incoloy®, Hastelloy®, titanium) is a cornerstone of Wink Fasteners, Inc. It is who we are.
We also believe in the benefits of reusing and recycling. Here are some of the environmentally sound activities that we practice in the office and in the warehouse:
- Perform as many processes electronically as possible; e.g. receiving quotes, sending order acknowledgements and invoices via e-mail, processing payments online and with ACH when feasible
- Buy energy-efficient office equipment
- Reuse office supplies
- Recycle toner
- Recycle office paper and warehouse corrugated boxes
- Use recycle bins for plastic bottles and cans
- Control office temperature to reduce energy
